A Talk by Brian Scovell

At 6:30pm this evening sports writer Brian Scovell talks about his work and books.

From a German raid in 1943, leaving him in hospital for two years reading the sports pages of the Daily Herald – to books on Bobby Robson, Trevor Brooking, Dickie Bird and Brian Lara, and memoir “Thank You Hermann Goering – A Life of a Sports Writer“.

On Friday July 1, at 7pm,  the sport and ‘make a book’ themes continue with Ian Bevan talking about the history of football at Crystal Palace and its process of becoming published.

All events are ticketed and can be obtained, with brochure, by calling in person to Beckenham Library, by telephoning the enquiry desk ( number can’t be directly published online) – on poster here.  One click on image and number becomes readable. Or email beckenham.library@bromley.gov.uk
